Emerald Zebra on behalf of our client, a Cyprus registered technology company that develops an AI powered automated gold trading software product for MetaTrader 5, is looking to hire a Junior MT5/MQL5 Developer to be based in Limassol, Cyprus. The company works with regulated broker infrastructure to provide automated trading functionality and risk management tools, and this role sits within the trading technology team reporting to the Senior MT5/MQL5 Developer.
Location: Limassol, Cyprus. Hybrid working from the Limassol office.
Engagement: Full time, as an employee or independent contractor depending on your location and applicable law.
Role Overview
You will work alongside the lead developer to support the development, testing and maintenance of Expert Advisors running on MetaTrader 5, building your skills in a live production environment. This is an ideal role for someone with a real interest in algorithmic trading who is ready to grow into a fully independent MQL5 developer over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building, maintaining and testing Expert Advisors for MetaTrader 5 under the guidance of the lead developer.
- Work with MT5 order, deal and position management logic as directed.
- Apply position sizing, Stop Loss and Take Profit, and margin rules to specifications.
- Write maintainable, modular and well documented MQL5 code and take part in code reviews.
- Use Git (or equivalent) to manage code changes and collaborate on the codebase.
- Run tests, log results and maintain clear documentation for EAs and parameters.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience or knowledge of developing Expert Advisors for MetaTrader 5.
- Fair knowledge of the MQL5 language and its structure.
- Some knowledge of object oriented programming and C/C++ style languages.
- Understanding of MT5 order, deal and position management.
- Understanding of risk management concepts: position sizing, Stop Loss and Take Profit, and margin.
- Ability to write maintainable, modular and well documented code.
- Experience with Git or another source control system.
Desirable
- C++ development experience is a strong advantage.
- Python scripting experience.
- MariaDB, MySQL or any other relational database experience.
- Forex and CFD trading knowledge.
- Experience integrating MT5 with external APIs or databases.
- Familiarity with RabbitMQ or similar message brokers.
