Role Overview

We are looking for experienced and detail-oriented Risk Analysts / Risk Officers to join the Risk Department in Cyprus.

The role is focused on operational risk monitoring within an online gaming platform. The successful candidates will be responsible for reviewing player activity, identifying suspicious behavior, detecting fraud patterns, monitoring withdrawals, preventing bonus abuse, and supporting the business in reducing financial, operational, and compliance-related risks.

This is a shift-based role, as the Risk Department must provide continuous operational coverage. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, making accurate decisions under time pressure, and escalating high-risk cases when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor player activity and identify suspicious or unusual behavior.
  • Review deposits, withdrawals, gameplay, bonus usage, and account activity from a risk perspective.
  • Detect and investigate potential fraud, including multi-accounting, identity misuse, payment fraud, chargeback risk, bonus abuse, arbitrage, suspicious betting patterns, and collusion.
  • Review withdrawal requests and flag high-risk transactions for further investigation.
  • Analyze player behaviour, payment history, gameplay patterns, IP/device data, account links, and other available risk indicators.
  • Identify abuse of promotions, cashback, free spins, deposit bonuses, welcome offers, and other campaign mechanics.
  • Work closely with Payments, Support, CRM, Compliance, and Management teams to resolve risk-related cases.
  • Escalate suspicious cases to Compliance when AML, KYC, responsible gambling, or regulatory concerns are identified.
  • Support KYC and enhanced due diligence checks when required by internal risk procedures.
  • Prepare clear case notes, investigation summaries, and internal reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of decisions, blocked accounts, restricted players, rejected withdrawals, and escalated cases.
  • Assist in developing and improving internal risk rules, fraud detection logic, withdrawal review procedures, and player monitoring workflows.
  • Help identify product or operational loopholes that may create financial or fraud exposure.
  • Ensure that all risk decisions are fair, consistent, well-documented, and aligned with internal policies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in Risk, Fraud, Payments, AML operations, KYC, iGaming operations, fintech, banking, or online payments.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify suspicious patterns across player activity, payments, bonuses, and gameplay.
  • Understanding of fraud prevention, payment risk, chargebacks, and account monitoring.
  • Ability to work with internal back-office systems, payment tools, CRM systems, risk dashboards, and reports.
  • Good decision-making skills, especially when reviewing time-sensitive withdrawals or suspicious cases.
  • Ability to document cases clearly and explain decisions logically.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with Support, Payments, Compliance, CRM, and Management teams.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
  • High level of responsibility, confidentiality, and professional judgment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the iGaming industry.
  • Understanding of casino products, sportsbook products, bonus mechanics, VIP players, payment flows, and player lifecycle.
  • Experience with fraud detection tools, KYC providers, payment gateways, affiliate traffic analysis, or risk scoring systems.
  • Knowledge of AML, KYC, responsible gambling, and player protection procedures.
  • Experience working with international markets and multi-currency platforms.
  • Basic understanding of crypto payments is a plus.
  • Previous experience reviewing withdrawals and investigating suspicious player activity.

Shift-Based Work Requirement

This position requires shift-based work to ensure proper Risk Department coverage during operational hours.

Candidates must be flexible and ready to work according to a rotating schedule, which may include:

  • Day shifts
  • Evening shifts
  • Weekend shifts
  • Public holiday coverage
  • Urgent case handling during high-activity periods

The exact shift schedule will be defined by the company based on operational needs.
