Our client is one of the largest Telecom companies in Cyprus. They are seeking to hire a Power & Datacentres Engineer to join their Tech team in Nicosia.
Responsibilities:
- Follows up with the developments of the electricity/power market in Cyprus and relevant government policies and regulations
- Assists and effectively provides appropriate insight to management to define long term power savings strategy
- Oversees the increase of cost savings via green energy projects
- Suggests, plans and monitors green energy projects and company policies
- Budgeting of operational expenditure concerning power consumption, based on current and future needs
- Keeps records on the consumption and cost of all power consuming nodes of the network
- Collects, approves and follows up with the charges of EAC and other alternative power suppliers
- Plans and dimensions power requirements for all telecoms nodes, including data centres (cooling quality and nodes availability)
- Produces performance reports of data centres power consumption and suggests cost optimisation methodologies
- Monitors external contractors involving power related works at data centres and telecoms nodes
- Liaises with a number of internal stakeholders on power issues/projects (PMO office. Finance)
- Shared EAC meter sites bills processing and approval to Finance for payment
Requirements:
- BSc (Bachelor) in Engineering, Master preferably in Telecommunications or Networks or Power
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Datacentre structures, design or power
- Member of ETEK
- Knowledge of telecoms network concepts would be considered an advantage
- Knowledge Electrical installations for Telecom sites would be considered an advantage
- Good knowledge of Datacentre environments
- Fluent written and spoken Greek and English
- Strong analytical skills
