Donna Stephenson | TEDxMolos Women talk

Following up from my previous post, I’m happy to share more photos from my TEDxMolos Women talk! 🌟

In my talk, I reflected on the transformative journey of finding my inner strength—how spiritual strength and self-belief became my guiding forces as I faced personal and professional crossroads. After stepping away from a successful group of businesses and facing a challenging family court case to change the residence of my 2 children, I temporarily relocated back to my roots in England to reconnect with family. This period of self-reflection, combined with solo travel across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the US, gave me the space to reignite my entrepreneurial spirit.

It was while on safari in Africa that the idea for my current company, Emerald Zebra, was born—an embodiment of my vision to create businesses that align with my values of equity, flexibility, and purpose. I’ve learned that we are truly happier when our decisions and actions are in harmony with our values and vision and when we have SELF BELIEF.

One of the key themes of my talk was the power of equitable leadership—creating environments where autonomy, trust, and empowerment are prioritised over rigid hierarchies. This approach has allowed me to build a remote first company, create a supportive culture, and build a purpose-driven business.
