The Challenge

A well-established professional services firm with over 15 years of experience delivering corporate, tax, and fiduciary solutions needed a Tax Manager to join their close-knit team of professionals in Nicosia. The role required someone who could review financial statements, draft tax rulings and memos, handle complex structuring questions, and eventually take on business development responsibilities.

The firm’s culture prioritised loyalty and integrity—they wanted someone committed to growing with the team, not a short-term hire looking for a stepping stone.

The Search

We targeted tax professionals with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained at a top-tier accounting firm. Candidates needed ACA/ACCA/LLM qualifications, strong knowledge of Cyprus tax law, and the ability to apply Double Tax Treaties across multiple jurisdictions.

Beyond technical skills, we looked for individuals who demonstrated genuine passion for tax advisory work and long-term career commitment.

The Solution

We identified a qualified tax professional with Big 4 training and a strong track record in Cyprus tax compliance and advisory. They had experience handling complex cross-border structuring, preparing tax rulings, and negotiating with tax authorities.

Their collaborative working style and career ambitions aligned with the firm’s growth plans and values.

The Outcome

The candidate joined the team, handling complex client matters and contributes strongly to the firm’s advisory capabilities.
