Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting

Are you an experienced accountant ready to take on a new challenge as the Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting in Limassol, Cyprus?

Emerald Zebra on behalf of our client is seeking a qualified (ACA/ACCA) accountant with recent experience gained in a CySEC regulated investment firm and at least 2 years’ experience in reporting to the regulator – CySEC.
The organization is a licensed and regulated financial services provider since 2013, providing traders access to global financial markets through 70+ tradeable instruments including CFDs on forex, stocks, commodities, and indices.
Reporting directly to the company CFO, you will oversee the accounting department and management of the financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring timely completion of internal and external reporting.
  • Manage and guide accounting personnel, reviewing their work and providing feedback for improvement.
  • Coordinate the audit process and prepare audited financial statements in line with IFRS and local laws.
  • Prepare management accounts for both solo and group levels, and handle any ad-hoc reporting requested by management.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting to CySEC and the Central Bank of Cyprus, including COREP, ICAAP, Pillar 3, ICF, Suitability reports, and others.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including submitting reports to tax authorities.
  • Liaise with banks, PSPs, EMI, and the treasury function in relation to financial requirements, in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Oversee accurate invoicing, payments to vendors, service providers, and payroll execution.
  • Monitor cash flow, prepare regular cash flow reports, and manage critical payments.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure effective financial operations and accurate reporting.

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • University degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a CySEC-regulated investment firm, with relevant experience in the same position.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
  • Fluency in both English and Greek, written and spoken.
  • Strong attention to detail and initiative.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented approach.

Additional Information:

  • The role is on-site in Limassol, Cyprus, and no relocation package is offered.

An attractive remuneration package EURO 60,000 – 72,000 annually plus benefits will be offered to the successful candidate, based on qualifications and experience.
