Our client is a leading multi-jurisdictional online trading and brokerage group.
The Group Head of Internal Audit will be a senior, independent function reporting directly to the Board Audit and Risk Committee (BARC) and the Group CEO. The role will be based in Cyprus with travel to group subsidiaries as required for on-site audit assignments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Lead and own the internal audit function at group level across all subsidiaries and jurisdictions
– Develop and execute a risk-based annual audit plan covering financial, operational, security and compliance audit
– Report findings, risks and recommendations directly to the Board Audit and Risk Committee (BARC)
– Build and maintain a constructive, solutions-oriented audit culture — highlighting gaps and weaknesses with a collaborative rather than accusatory approach
– Liaise with Group CEO and senior management on audit outcomes and remediation
– Design and implement audit frameworks, policies and procedures from the ground up
– Oversee security audit as a priority area alongside financial controls
– Travel to branches and subsidiaries globally for on-site audit assignments as required
REQUIREMENTS:
– Minimum 12–15 years of experience in internal audit, with significant exposure at group/holding company level
– Strong understanding of the online trading / brokerage / FinTech sector and its regulatory environment
– Experience in multi-jurisdictional, multi-subsidiary group structures
– International audit certification required (CIA, CISA, or equivalent)
– Excellent command of English
– Strong personality — able to engage constructively with senior stakeholders, the board and regulators
– Cyprus-based candidates strongly preferred
– ACA/ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification advantageous
