About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Business Development Manager to take ownership of revenue growth, sales strategy, and client relationships within the maritime technology sector. Reporting to the Director of Technology Sales, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities, closing high-value deals, and shaping the future of maritime digital transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Growth Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to expand market presence and drive revenue growth.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, forming strategic alliances and introducing innovative client solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including shipping companies, port authorities, and logistics providers.
  • Sales Execution: Lead high-value negotiations, contribute to the development of a robust sales strategy, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with technology, marketing, and program management teams to deliver tailored solutions that address client needs.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies, providing insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Brand Awareness & Marketing Support: Collaborate with marketing teams to enhance digital presence, participate in industry events, and represent the company at relevant panels and forums.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing business development team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Background and Experience:

  • Strong background in business development, sales, or management consulting, ideally within the technology or maritime sectors.
  • Excel at identifying new market opportunities, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with a track record of closing high-value deals.
  • Experience working in international environments, collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Able to understand digital transformation trends in the maritime, logistics, or related industries.
  • Adaptable & Driven personality
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce CRM and JIRA task management tools.
  • Understanding of digital marketing strategies and strong financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting would be considered as advantage
  • Advanced presentation skills using the Microsoft 365 suite.
