You will be primarily responsible for the accounting of two entities, with the possibility of supporting other group companies as required. If you have a background in business, finance, or a related field, and experience in the online trading industry, this role could be a great fit.
As the Accountant, you will manage financial reporting and general accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements while maintaining strong internal controls.
Your Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Manage financial obligations and ensure timely processing and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and reconcile debtor and creditor accounts.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Review and verify payroll transactions.
- Oversee and reconcile intercompany balances and transactions.
- Prepare and review VAT reports and ensure timely submissions.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Execute month-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
- Prepare payments for creditors, VAT, and PAYE.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Act as a point of contact for external auditors during audits.
You have
- BSc/MSc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- ACA or ACCA qualification (or in progress) is considered an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with SAP accounting software is a plus.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Energetic, organized, and team-oriented with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
