Cyprus: Access the 2024 Labour Relations Officer’s Handbook

We are pleased to share that the 2024 Labour Relations Officer’s Handbook is now available in English: A guide to Cypriot labour law and industrial relations.

Published as part of the “Development Pillars” project under the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA 2021-2027” and co-funded by the European Union, this seven-volume series fills a longstanding gap for English-speaking professionals navigating the complexities of employment law in Cyprus.

The Handbook covers essential topics, including:

  • Labour Legislation: Summaries of key laws on maternity and paternity leave, working time, annual leave, part-time and fixed-term employment, and more.
  • Termination of Employment: Insights into dismissal procedures with real case law examples.
  • Social Insurance: An overview of Cyprus’ social security system and benefits structure.
  • Industrial Relations and Dispute Resolution: Guidance on collective agreements, the Industrial Relations Code, and essential services.
  • Health and Safety at Work: Key obligations and best practices.
  • Equality and Sexual Harassment in Employment: Important measures, policies, and sample codes of practice.
  • Labour Policies and Good Practices: Templates and examples for workplace policies on issues like sick leave, parental leave, and disciplinary procedures.

For companies operating in Cyprus, whether employing local or international talent, this publication is an essential resource for responsible HR management and compliance.
