Sales Director, Fintech

As their new Sales Director, you will ideally have a strong background in sales leadership within the fintech sector, a proven track record of achieving sales targets, and the ability to build and mentor a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive business growth and market expansion.
  • Analyze market trends and identify new opportunities for revenue generation.
  • Set clear sales goals and objectives, and develop plans to achieve them.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective sales targets.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development opportunities for the sales team.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-energy team environment.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and key accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Negotiate and close deals with prospective clients.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline and ensure the CRM system is effectively utilized.
  • Monitor sales metrics and KPIs to track performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Ensure sales processes and policies are adhered to and continuously improved.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align sales and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with product development to ensure customer feedback is integrated into product enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
  • A deeper understanding of the fintech products, such as payment solutions, blockchain technology, digital banking, or financial software, is essential.
  • Knowledge of the financial regulations and compliance requirements that affect fintech companies.
  • Keeping up-to-date with fintech industry trends, such as advancements in AI, cybersecurity concerns, or changes in consumer behaviour towards digital financial services.
  • Analysing competitors within the fintech space and identifying unique selling points.
  • Establishing trust with clients by demonstrating a deep understanding of financial technology and its implications.
  • Managing longer and more complex sales cycles typical in fintech, where clients may require extensive due diligence and regulatory checks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the fintech industry, with at least 3 years
  • in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex data and market trends.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric approach.
