Risk Manager, Nicosia

high-growth environments? At Emerald Zebra Recruitment we are hiring a Risk Manager to join our clients
growing team in Nicosia (onsite), where you’ll help shape the future of a
licensed Electronic Money Institution (EMI) serving both local and
international clients as their Risk Manager.

As a
licensed EMI in Cyprus, operating under both Central Bank of Cyprus and UK
regulators (FCA & PRA), we navigate a complex regulatory environment.
That’s where you come in. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead our risk function identifying, assessing, and managing risk across the organisation
while developing a proactive risk culture.

You’ll work
cross-functionally, embedding Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) into decision-making
and helping us stay ahead of compliance expectations while supporting
innovation in the fintech space.

You’ll be
responsible for:

  • Developing
    and maintaining our enterprise-wide risk management framework.
  • Ensuring
    ongoing compliance with Central Bank of Cyprus, FCA, and PRA requirements.
  • Conducting
    financial crime risk assessments (AML, CTF, sanctions) across borders.
  • Engaging
    with regulators and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Assessing
    risks for new products, markets, and digital payment services.
  • Implementing
    and monitoring KRIs, influencing strategic decisions at senior levels.
  • Managing
    outsourcing and third-party risk, in line with current regulatory standards.
  • Preparing
    the organisation for digital operational resilience regulations (DORA and UK
    equivalents).

You have:

  • Hands-on
    experience in risk management within financial services or fintech.
  • A strong
    understanding of regulatory frameworks in Cyprus, the EU, and the UK.
  • Experience
    with cross-border AML/CTF/sanctions compliance.
  • A track
    record of building or enhancing risk governance in regulated environments.
  • Confidence
    engaging with regulators and presenting risk insights to leadership.

You may also have:

  • Certifications
    such as FRM, PRM, or ICA.
  • Experience
    at an EMI, PI, or dual-regulated fintech firm.
  • Familiarity
    with DORA and the UKs operational resilience framework.
