We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive L2 System Administrator to join a well-established international hosting and infrastructure provider based in Larnaca. This role is ideal for professionals with solid experience in Linux and Windows server environments, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure. Youll be working closely with a skilled technical team to manage and support complex systems while contributing to projects and escalated support tasks. As a L2 System Administrator, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining our server infrastructure. You will handle escalated support issues, perform system optimizations, and work closely with the Level 1 Support team to ensure smooth operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 support for Linux and Windows-based servers.
- Deploy servers for clients, arrange hardware upgrades and downgrades.
- Troubleshoot escalated issues related to virtualization, cPanel/WHM, DNS, and email hosting along with bare metal servers.
- Monitor server infrastructure, responding to alerts and proactively resolving issues.
- Perform system maintenance, updates, and patching for Linux and Windows environments.
- Assist in server provisioning, migrations, and hardware upgrades.
- Analyze system performance and recommend optimizations.
- Work with the L1 Support team to mentor and improve troubleshooting efficiency.
- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a hosting or data center environment.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server administration and/or Linux (Ubuntu, AlmaLinux etc).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (KVM, VMware, etc.).
- Familiarity with enterprise server hardware (Dell PowerEdge) and RAID configurations.
- Experience with monitoring tools and log analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams remotely.
Additional/Optional Skills
- Certifications such as RHCSA, MCSE, or CCNA are a plus.
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Bash/Python scripting).
- Knowledge of IT security best practices.
- Proficiency in cPanel/WHM, DNS management, and email hosting solutions considered a plus although not required.
