Junior Tax Expert, Nicosia

Emerald Zebra is hiring a Junior Tax Expert on behalf of our client in Nicosia, a newly established and much promising start-up which aims to reshape the way Cyprus residents submit their annual tax-form, by rethinking how people handle their taxes in Cyprus. Through automation, simplicity and expert-backed support, they help thousands of individuals file their tax forms, understand their exemptions and stay compliant – all with minimal stress.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Junior Tax Expert whos ready to grow across tax, operations, and digital tools. This isnt just a forms-and-figures job – its a chance to build your skills across personal tax, client support, internal operations and advisory work.

You’ll work closely with our internal team and external partners, helping ensure smooth tax submissions and delivery of while also contributing to special projects and the everyday mechanics of a growing platform.

What Youll Do

  • Assist with preparing and reviewing personal income tax forms
  • Support clients in understanding and applying tax exemptions and allowances
  • Support on ad hoc tax advisory projects and research tasks
  • Track deadlines and submission progress through internal systems
  • Follow up with clients on pending documents, exemptions and status updates
  • Prepare draft requests for tax certificates, tax clearances and non-dom status confirmation
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors for coordination and document collection
  • Assist with back-office admin: invoicing, task monitoring, data organisation
  • Participate in platform testing and process feedback loops

What Were Looking For

  • Degree in Accounting, Law, Business, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in tax, audit, administration, or operations
  • Great communication skills in both Greek and English
  • Detail-oriented and organised, especially under deadlines
  • Comfortable with digital tools and eager to learn new systems
  • Curious, self-motivated and willing to dive into both client work and backend processes

Bonus: ACCA, ACA, or ADIT (even part-qualified) is a plus
