Head of Legal

Do you have experience as Head of Legal or Senior Lawyer in the Forex or Financial Services Industry?

Our client is seeking to recruit an experienced Head of Legal to join their team in Limassol.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft agreements, contracts and other legal documents and ensure they are aligned with the relevant legislations
  • Provide professional legal advice, guidance and support to ensure that the legal and reputational risk faced are identified, reported and mitigated
  • Consulting and handling all corporate legal processes
  • Conduct legal research on various matters and proactively identify legal risks
  • Advise the Company on potential legal risks
  • Review any new applicable laws and regulations, and advise how these are affecting the companys operations
  • Implementation of the Internal Regulations and procedures of the Company
  • Advise on employment labour law and other legal matters, involving head office as well as global offices
  • Providing guidance and training to staff and management on legal and other related matters
  • Assisting with general and varied queries affecting the business
  • Conduct periodic audits on matters relating to regulatory and employment frameworks
  • Carries out any further duties assigned by their line manager
  • Report on department activities and performance to the operations manager

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • 3+ years of experience in a managerial role within the Forex/ Trading industry
  • CySEC Advanced certification and CySEC AML certification will be considered an advantage
  • Ability to use independent judgement
  • Detailed knowledge of laws and regulations affecting business operations
  • Ability to interpret and advice on the application of various laws
  • Native/ Fluent in English and Greek is a must
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong critical & logical thinking
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Already based in Cyprus – EU citizenship is a must
