The Role:

As the Compliance Officer you will play a vital role in ensuring the firm’s adherence to Cyprus and EU laws, regulations and directives. You’ll be responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining policies, procedures and controls to meet compliance standards. Monitoring the effective implementation of anti-money laundering (AML) measures and providing guidance to the firms employees on compliance matters will also be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you’ll oversee client categorization based on risk, maintain systems for customer due diligence, and report any suspicious activities. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing the operations for compliance risks and making recommendations for improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review and maintain up to date policies, procedures and controls of the firm to comply with Cyprus and EU laws, regulations and directives;
  • Monitor and assesses the correct and effective implementation of AML policies, procedures and controls introduced by the firm;
  • Provide advice and guidance to the staff on matters relating to compliance matters and provide recommendations to the management on necessary actions and training;
  • Ensure the preparation, maintenance and regular update of the software on clients categorization following a risk-based approach;
  • Maintain up to date systems and procedures as applied by the firm for customer identification and due diligence purposes;
  • Identify, examine, and report any suspicious activities related to ML and TF;
  • Assess the firms operations to determine compliance risks and make recommendations in case of detection of any weakness or failure by the firm to comply with its obligations;
  • Ensure that firms employees attend training sessions in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations;
Requirements:
  • 3 – 5 years proven experience in a similar position;
  • Fluent in Greek and English both written and oral at professional proficiency;
  • ICPAC AML Certificate is a plus;
  • Strong knowledge of industry processes and regulations;
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel);
What is on offer:
  • Salary Range: EUR 40,000 – 45,000 gross/year (depending on experience and qualifications)

  • Working Hours: Monday Thursday 8:30 am 5:30 pm and Friday 8:30 am 2:30 pm
