Our client, a CySEC regulated market leading financial trading firm is seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join their team of professionals based at the company’s London, UK office. You will assume responsibility of the accounting postings daily, analyze financial information, prepare, and present financial reports and implement effective strategies to enhance overall performance in the Finance department. You will be reporting to the Senior Accountant.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare month end procedures / Monthly Management Accounts for specific entities of the Group to include but not limited to:
- Calculating and making provisions for prepayments and accruals
- Updating FA schedule and calculating depreciation (if applicable to the assigned entity)
- Generation of TB and monthly management accounts for review with relevant schedules for reference and breakdowns
- Substantiating the monthly balance sheet
- Providing input for commentary on the BS & PnL
- Responsible for processing staff expense claim forms, staff credit cards and petty cash
- Ensure Banks, PSPs and petty cash reconciliations in order
- Month-end accounting including reconciliations and journals
- Prepare, examine, analyze and provide commentary on management reports
- Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations
- Preparation of Tax computations and monitoring of the tax exposure for specific entities.
- Prepares regulatory reporting and any ad hoc reports required by local authorities
- Act as a backup on daily posting of journal entries, maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure all business transactions are recorded and accounting procedures are properly retained
- Support budgeting and funding
- Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
- Taking part in systems and process improvement initiatives
- Assisting & coordinating the annual external audit and ensuring financial statements are submitted within the deadline
- Assist with ad hoc reporting requirements, which may arise from time to time and with other accounting projects when necessary.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years work experience in Finance
- Graduate of Accountancy or having studied Business, Economics or Accounting or qualified by experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook)
- Audit exposure
- Knowledge of UK Laws and Regulations
- Strong Accounting & Analytical Skills
- Communication skills -verbal and written
- In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
