HR PowerBreakfast guest keynote speaker Ms. Yiota Kambouridou

Delighted to announce that Ms. Yiota Kambouridou, from the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, Cyprus will present a Keynote speech at our upcoming HR PowerBreakfast event.

Title: Insights on Pay Transparency and the Groundwork for Compliance with the EU directive.

This is an important topic that raises a lot of questions and for which Ms. Yiota Kambouridou will be invaluable since she is well acquainted with the EU Legislative process as she chaired a working group of the Council of the EU and engaged in trialogues with the European Parliament, during her employment at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Cyprus to the EU, in Brussels.

Ms Kambouridou will be presenting an overview of the directive with an emphasis on employers’ obligations, harmonisation deadlines etc., as well as answers to certain questions, such as:

Why is there a need for pay transparency? The importance of preparation and planning. What are the particular challenges for micro, SMEs or multinationals? How is the Ministry of Labour planning the implementation?
And what are the benefits of Pay Transparency for employers/employees?

Short Bio: Yiota Kambouridou is currently Head of the Equality Unit of the Department of Labour Relations (Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance) with nearly twenty years of professional experience in the field of labour relations, specialising in equality of pay and reconcilitation of work and private life.

Her work experience includes drafting and amendment of legislation, law enforcement, counseling and inspection, investigation of complaints, participation in tripartite cooperation committees, evaluation of applications for the national “Gender Equality at the Workplace” certification, project management and public procurement. Chaired a working group of the Council of the EU and was engaged in trialogues with the European Parliament during her employment at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Cyprus to the EU, in Brussels. She is a holder of a Bachelors’ degree in Finance from the University of Cyprus and a MBA professional degree from the Univesrity of Southampton.
