The Role
We are hiring a Senior Platform DevOps Engineer to strengthen our client’s Middleware team as they transition critical messaging, integration and API workloads (including IBM CP4I, ACE, APIC and MQ) to a modern container based platform. This role is not tied to specific vendors or tools. We are looking for an engineer with hands on experience across the full lifecycle of platform delivery, from discovery and readiness assessment through secure platform foundations and automation to controlled production migration.
What You Will Do
Platform Migration Enablement
- Contribute to discovery and readiness assessments for platform and workload migration, identifying dependencies, risks and migration sequencing
- Support phased migration planning and execution for middleware workloads
Platform Foundation and Operations
- Support the design, build and operation of production grade container platforms
- Contribute to capabilities such as networking, storage, observability and backup, ensuring environment separation and readiness for regulated workloads
- Participate in Day 2 operations, stability improvements and platform hardening
Operating Model and Standards
- Help define how teams deploy, operate and support workloads
- Contribute to deployment standards, runbooks and operational documentation
- Support predictable upgrades, scaling and incident response
Security and Compliance Foundations
- Work with security and architecture teams to implement access control and identity models, network isolation, certificate and secrets lifecycle practices, and audit and logging requirements
CI/CD and Automation
- Help design and evolve standardised CI/CD and automation pipeline patterns
- Support Git based declarative deployment and promotion models
- Ensure rollback, redeploy and recovery patterns are clearly defined
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
- Mentor team members and promote DevOps best practices
- Act as a bridge between Middleware, Platform, Security and Architecture teams
What You Will Bring
- Strong experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering roles
- Hands on experience with containerised workloads, container orchestration concepts, and CI/CD and automation pipelines
- Image handling and registries (Nexus, Artifactory)
- Tooling such as Docker / Podman, Tekton, Azure DevOps pipelines
- Experience operating platforms in enterprise or regulated environments
- Solid understanding of security, access control and secrets management
- Strong observability, monitoring and operational troubleshooting capability
- Comfortable working across planning, build, operate and migration phases
- Strong problem solving, documentation and communication skills
- Effective working in a multicultural team
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a related field
- App Connect Enterprise (ACE) experience
- API Connect (APIC) experience
- MQ experience
- Azure DevOps experience
- Knowledge of best practices in data encryption and cybersecurity
The Details
- Location: Nicosia, Cyprus. Fully onsite, no remote or hybrid option
- Hours: 8 hour working day, Monday to Friday
