Information Security Officer

In this position, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, safeguarding the organizations information assets, IT infrastructure, and maritime operations. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of maritime cybersecurity challenges. Collaboration with IT, operations, compliance, and legal teams is key to ensuring robust security measures aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a risk governance framework, conducting regular assessments to address vulnerabilities across systems.
  • Ensure compliance with international cybersecurity standards, such as IMO guidelines and ISO 27001, while adapting best practices to the sector.
  • Lead cybersecurity assessments for the organizations supply chain and client engagements.
  • Establish and maintain an incident response plan to detect, respond to, and recover from cybersecurity incidents.
  • Lead response efforts during incidents, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on business continuity planning and improvements.
  • Design and execute cybersecurity training programs for employees.
  • Lead awareness campaigns and simulations to foster a culture of cybersecurity vigilance.
  • Oversee train the trainer workshops to ensure broad and consistent cybersecurity education.
  • Implement continuous monitoring systems to identify and address security threats.
  • Regularly report on cybersecurity posture, incidents, and risk mitigation to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate third-party assessments and develop remediation plans.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.
  • Collaborate closely with data protection teams to uphold privacy and governance measures.
  • Recommend innovative solutions to enhance cybersecurity capabilities.

Requirements:

  • BA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in information security, including 2 years in a leadership role (maritime or transportation industry experience preferred).
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
  • Familiarity with maritime cybersecurity regulations (e.g., IMO guidelines, ISPS Code).
  • Proven ability to develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and incident response plans.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
