The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to run, build, and optimize our cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines. Working alongside our C++ backend engineers and product teams, you will design, scale, and secure an event-driven AWS environment that powers real-time trading at massive scale. This is a role for an automation-first engineer who thrives on building robust platforms, eliminating manual toil, and ensuring maximum system reliability.
Knowledge & Skills
- Robust hands-on experience in building and configuring high-availability AWS environments (multi-AZ, autoscaling, load balancing) and compute/database platforms (EKS, ECS, EC2, RDS).
- Deep proficiency in writing maintainable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) via Terraform (or CloudFormation) and building streamlined CI/CD pipelines via GitLab CI.
- Strong understanding of secure cloud networking architectures, including subnets, routing tables, security groups, NAT, and VPN/Transit Gateway connections.
- Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal, allowing for clear cross-functional alignment with development, QA, and security teams.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, paired with 3+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering role. (AWS Certifications or familiarity with GitOps/FluxCD are highly valued).
Complexity & Problem Solving
- Applying advanced diagnostics to analyze logs, trace metrics, and resolve complex production issues across networking, compute, and application layers.
- Designing and implementing real-time dashboards and alerting metrics using CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus to ensure uninterrupted platform operation.
- Establishing clear Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to track platform health, and collaborating on the testing of disaster recovery procedures and automated failover systems.
Accountability & Decision Making
- Running and maintaining continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, and coordinating release management processes to deliver seamless, zero-downtime updates.
- Implementing strict security controls and access permissions, including AWS IAM least privilege, permission boundaries, and secure secrets management (Secrets Manager/SSM Parameter Store).
- Organizing container registries (ECR) and maintaining strict, cost-effective image lifecycle policies.
- Continuously evaluating existing workflows to identify automation opportunities and collaborating with development teams to design highly scalable technical data solutions.
Responsibility for Assets & Working Conditions
- Shared responsibility for the uptime and absolute operational security of critical cloud systems housing core trading data and client transaction pathways.
- Participating in incident monitoring, on-call support, and escalation workflows, maintaining composure and technical focus during time-sensitive service interruptions.
- Working in a supportive, fast-paced technology office based in Nicosia, Cyprus requiring meticulous attention to detail and precise execution to protect the firm’s trading operations.
